Cheesecake is a well-known dish, that belongs both to European and American cuisine. It is represented by cheese-containing dessert. As to its consistence, it resembles cake soufflé.
Nowadays it is difficult to believe that the very first cheesecakes were baked not in the USA, but even far away from their territories, in ancient Greece. As a rule, cheesecakes are produced from special kind of cheese, called Philadelphia and its various analogues.
People also use sugar, some eggs, fat or low-fat cream and fruit. A mixture of these ingredients is placed on biscuits or sweet crackers. You can also add vanilla, caramel or chocolate. The choice depends on your own taste. The decoration is done from fruit, for example, strawberries or grape.
Usually American cheesecake recipe is rather easy to be prepared, and even the beginners are able to cope with delicious dish.
What products to take
- Butter – 100 g
- Sugar – 3 tbsp.
- Cocoa – 3 tbsp.
- Biscuit cookies – 200 g
- Creamy cheese – 400 g
- Creamy liqueur – 2 tbsp.
- Or cognac – 2 tbsp.
- Powdered sugar – 100 g
- Eggs – 4 pcs.
- Dark chocolate – 50 g
How to prepare this dish
Cheese, which is taken for this kind of dessert should be soft and crumbly. You should be able to mash it into crumbs with your hands.
Prepare all the products for your future cheesecake.
How to make cheesecake from cottage cheese:
Crush the cookies in crumbs with your hands.
Melt butter together with sugar and chocolate.
Add crumbled cookies, stir until smooth condition.
Put the cheesecake base in a split mold.
Mix eggs with powdered sugar.
Eggs are whipped in a water bath with powdered sugar until foam appearance. It usually takes 10 minutes at high speed. Stir your cheese or cottage cheese gradually, then pour liqueur inside.
Divide the mixture into 2 parts, add cocoa in one half and mix until homogeneous condition.
Both parts without mixing are poured into the mold onto the dough.
Turn on the oven.
Bake cottage cheesecake for about 50 minutes at a temperature of 170 degrees.
Mind if the surface of the cheesecake is cracking, it simultaneously means that the temperature is too high.
Ready cheesecake should be cooled and put into the fridge for 5-6 hours.
