In their various explanations the halishky recipes exist in Polish, Slovak, Czech and German cuisine. But the most known are Ukrainian ones. We should also mention Ukrainians, even the two of them, perhaps, the most, the famous dishes and invented borscht with halushky. And by the way, the recipe of the borsch.
These potato halushky are usually prepared with mushrooms, which make their taste really unforgettable and unique. Fried onions and a small amount of garlic bring special taste. The dish is believed to be lenten.
What products to take
- Jacket potatoes – 300-350 grams
- Boiled mushrooms – 200 g
- Powdered black pepper
- Starch – 1 tbsp.
- Flour – 200 g
- Vegetable oil – 3-4 tbsp.
- Onion – 1 pc.
- Garlic – 2 cloves
- Parsley and dill green – 1 tbsp. in chopped condition
How to prepare this dish
Boil the potatoes, peel and put through a sieve while the vegetables are still in warm condition. Mix with prepared starch. Salt and pepper your dish. Mushrooms should be boiled and chopped finely. Pepper and salt the ingredients.
Mix potatoes with mushrooms and gradually add flour (100-150g).The dough should be soft and not stick to your hands.
Roll the so-called bundles from the dough and cut halushky out of them.
Fry the finely chopped onions in the vegetable oil.
Squeeze garlic and chop the greens finely.
Boil your halushky in salted boiling water for 3-5 minutes after they rise to the water surface. Pull them out to the plate with the help of the skimmer and mix with fried onions. Sprinkle potato and mushroom halushky with greens with garlic and freshly ground pepper if you want to.
