Meatballs in tomato sauce

Meatballs are not only very tasty, they are considered to be a very convenient dish. By the way they can be prepared for future use. And if you want them later, you will need only 10 minutes to cook.

The recipe for making meatballs is rather simple indeed: made minced meat, mix it with bread, eggs, salt-peppered and the meatballs are ready. However, it is not very simple, as it may seem at the first sight.

 What products to take

Ingredients are given for 2 potions

 For meatballs:

  • 5 kg of minced pork;
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder;
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper;
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano;
  • 1 teaspoon of dried thyme;
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil.

For sauce:

  • 1 cup of tomato sauce;
  • 1 glass of white wine;
  • 1 teaspoon of dried thyme;
  • 1 teaspoon of dried basil leaves;
  • ½ tsp of ground black pepper;
  • ¼ teaspoon of salt (or salt to taste);
  • ¼ teaspoon of red pepper (or more if you prefer spicier);
  • ¼ cup grated cheese (Parmesan).

For pasta:

  • 2 servings of spaghetti.

How to prepare this dish

 Step 1

Mix the minced meat, garlic powder, black pepper, dried oregano and dried thyme.

Step 2

Create the small balls from the minced meat. Heat the frying pan over medium heat and add some olive oil. Then put the meatballs into a frying pan and fry them on all sides until brown hint (for about 8 minutes).

Step 3

Cover the pan with a lid and lower the heat. Continue cooking for another 5 to 7 minutes, or until the meatballs are ready. Take the meatballs away from the frying pan and set them aside while preparing the sauce.

Step 4

Sauce is prepared in the same pan, in the oil, left from meatballs. Add the wine and let it boil for about 5 minutes.

Step 5

Then add the tomato sauce, dried basil, dried thyme, hot red pepper and salt. Stir all ingredients and boil over low heat while you are cooking spaghetti.

Step 6

Add spaghetti to the boiling water, cook until ready and then drain.

Step 7

Put the portions of pasta onto the serving plates. Cut the meatballs in halves and put them on top and sides of the dish.Pour with a tomato sauce and sprinkle with grated cheese.
